Courtesy Announcement- Support the Honour Country Sacrifice project commemorate 35th Anniversary Persian Gulf War

Published on January 14, 2026

This February (Feb 25–Mar 1, 2026), I’ve been invited to Halifax to photograph Canadian veterans of the Persian Gulf War during the 35th anniversary commemoration. It’s a rare and meaningful opportunity to preserve the stories of those who served during a pivotal chapter in Canada’s military history, stories that are too often overlooked.

This work is part of Honour Country Sacrifice, my ongoing national portrait and oral-history project documenting active and retired members of the Canadian Armed Forces. The Halifax visit contributes to the project’s goal of capturing 400 stories from across the country, representing all gender identities, communities of colour, Indigenous Peoples, and the LGBTQ2+ community.

To make this trip possible, I’m currently seeking corporate sponsorship and community support to help cover travel and production costs. Partner organizations will be acknowledged across national media, exhibitions, and digital platforms, aligning with a project that has already reached more than 30 million Canadians through coverage on various media outlets such as past coverage on CBC News, CTV, Global News, CP24, and the Toronto Star.

Beyond visibility, this is about impact. Support helps ensure that the sacrifices, resilience, and lived experiences of these veterans are preserved and shared from coast to coast to coast for future generations.

For this Halifax trip, I’m aiming to raise $1,500 CAD to cover flights and accommodations. Any support corporate or individual is deeply appreciated.

Donations can also be made directly through the Honour Country Sacrifice GoFundMe:

If your organization believes in legacy, storytelling, and honoring those who served, I’d love to connect and explore how we can work together.

Thank you kindly for taking the time to read this email and for any support you can give.
